STUDENT HANDBOOK

We have created this one-stop handbook to hopefully shed some light on how things run throughout the year as well as answer a lot of queries you may have throughout the year. Whilst we would love you to take the time to read this information carefully, don’t forget that our friendly team are always here to help and will happily answer any queries you may have. Nothing is too big or too small, we promise!
We can’t wait for a wonderful year of dance in 2024 and look forward to seeing you around the studio!
To start us off, it’s important to us here at Triple T Dance that all members of our team share our vision, our purpose and the philosophy that encompasses everything we do both in and outside of our classes. This is a vision that is shared and demonstrated by the Directors, Teachers and Staff Members at our studio and it is the driving force behind every interaction with our students and their families.

Before pulling on those dance shoes, it’s important that all families – whether returning or new complete their enrolment so we can ensure we have the most up-to-date contact details for you and have you review the terms and conditions of enrolment. This information includes you and your child's details, any medical conditions, our waivers, insurances and your payment details.
Enrolments are completed online through our Parent Portal.
Your registration fee on enrolment includes and covers your personal liability insurance with AON insurance as well as music licensing fees.
We encourage all of our students and families to try a variety of dance styles and we are more than happy to accommodate trial classes for existing students who are wanting to try something a bit different. Please contact our admin team if you would like to try a new class and we will happily schedule you in for a trial (provided the class has not reached capacity).
We understand wholeheartedly how busy the lives and schedules of families can get as the year rolls on, so we try to get all of our important dates organised and ready for you so you can plan other commitments. Here we have listed some of our most important “Save the Dates” and more details will be released as we get closer to the events. If you know ahead of time that your family will be unable to attend these events due to planned holidays or existing commitments, please let our admin team know at your earliest convenience.
* Please note these dates may be subject to change.

We endevour to keep you in the loop on all things here at Triple T Dance. Our friendly admin team can be contacted on 0433280602 during class time but for convenience, our primary means of communication is via BAND app or Email.
You will receive regular newsletters and important information via BAND app or Email so please ensure you have provided the studio with an up-to-date email address that is regularly checked and have downloaded the BAND app. We are of course happy to include multiple email addresses per family if you would like your correspondence sent to numerous recipients.

BALLET
Classical ballet is characterised by a standard vocabulary of steps, poses and graceful movements including pointed feet, rising, jumping, stretching and spinning, Our ballet classes contain traditional barre and centre work designed to create a strong and elegant dancer. We consider this style the most important to develop technique which is the foundation of all other dance styles – yes, even Hip Hop! We teach a combination of the Cecchetti syllabus and lyrical dance for routines.
Lyrical is a melodic and more expressive form of ballet often accompanied by ballad music to which the students can relate.
CIRQUE
At Triple T Dance, our Cirque classes focus on a range of skills and activities such as interactive circuits, lyra, silks, trapeze, juggling, hula hoops and more all under the supervision of our fully qualified teachers. These classes will keep students busy and are a heap of fun!
CONTEMPORARY/LYRICAL
Contemporary dance is a particularly innovative way of moving the body, blurring the lines between jazz, ballet and Hip Hop. We teach the students to dance in parallel, seamless movement in and out of the ground, contract and release, and fall and recovery – these elements making up the characteristics of contemporary dance. This style encourages self-expression, natural movement and personal interpretation.
DRAMA
Drama classes are a fun and interactive class where students roleplay with improvisation games and activities There are so many benefits gained through drama classes. To be a great dancer you need that element of acting ability to tell the story you are telling through dance your child also gains the Confidence to stand in front of an audience and deliver a speech or the confidence that helps prepare them for job interviews and auditions and helps them think on their feet.
HIP HOP
Hip Hop is a street style of dance that has become very popular over the last ten years. We see this kind of dancing in music videos from Justin Timberlake, Usher and Beyoncé and also in films such as Step Up and Honey. Our teachers are committed to staying at the forefront of this exciting and constantly evolving genre through regular training and workshops with some of the world’s top choreographers. In class students are taught breakdancing skills as well as basic acrobatic exercises to help strengthen and improve their Hip Hop technique. Our classes also allow the children to learn some popular ‘groove steps’ and give them the opportunity to explore their own unique style – which is loads of fun!
JAZZ
Jazz is our most popular style of dance and where we recommend most students start. Classes will contain a mix up of the following; a warm up, corner work (skill progressions which travel across the floor), centre based skill work, flexibility exercises as well as learning a routine.
Jazz is a very diverse form of dance influenced by old and new musicals through to modern pop music. Jazz class enhances flexibility, coordination and fitness, but most of all, Jazz is simply great fun, listening to all your favourite pop songs heard on the radio in class. We take pride in keeping all choreography and music choices age appropriate whilst ensuring students are engaged and challenged.

Musical theatre students are immersed in a vibrant and dynamic world of performing arts. These classes offer a unique blend of singing, dancing and acting, allowing students to explore their talents in all aspects of musical theatre where they learn various vocal techniques, develop their dance skills and delve in the art of character development. Tap classes offer more than just learning how to move your feet.
